TERMS / INFO REGARDING COMMISSION WORK:
I am usually scheduled out at least 6 weeks and fill my calendar on a first come / first serve basis.
I don't give quotes over the phone as that leaves too much room for error. Due to the individuality of each piece, I will need to get specific details to estimate my hours and gather my information, such as quotes on materials, shipping costs, etc., before I can get you an accurate price.
I typically require 50% deposit up front to secure a spot on my calendar and before I put any significant hours into design work.
If I am more than six weeks out, I will consider a 10% deposit to get the calendar spot with 50% of the remaining balance due prior to starting the project.
If the project is a large project requiring many weeks to complete, I may require project draws or bi-weekly payments through the course of the project.
The final balance is due in full at the time of delivery or prior to shipment. If the item is being shipped, I will forward photos of the completed work along with the final invoice via email.
All of my work is priced out according to the time required to complete the project, the cost of materials as well as any applicable sales tax and / or shipping / installation costs.
NEW: In some cases, I will consider a 4 month installment payment arrangement. This is a new option I am trying. Please contact me for specific details.
Please be assured that all of these terms and estimated completion dates will be gone over in detail prior to starting the project and will be included on the formal contract, which requires signatures from both parties.
As mentioned above, the base price of a commission is based on the time required to create the one of a kind piece plus the cost of materials required to make the piece. Many times, it is difficult to know what people expect as far as cost on any given project, and my work can prove to be expensive but that is because I take the necessary time and attention to detail to create a completely custom project for you that will last a lifetime.
There are no two pieces that I create that are exactly the same. I go out of my way to ensure that is so. There will be ample discussions regarding design and expectations and any drawings, renderings or the like will be sent to you - the client - for review, approval and for your signature prior to actually starting the job.
